Magarini Mining Limited

Verified African copper — sourcing, agency & counterparty verification

We trade copper in a market full of people who don't have any.

Magarini Mining Limited is a Kenya-based minerals trading and agency company connecting international buyers with verifiable African producers. The copper trade between the Central African Copperbelt and world markets is crowded with paper traders, recycled documents and outright fraud — so we built our own verification infrastructure and we trade through it. Everything on this site is part of that infrastructure, and it is open for our counterparties to inspect.

The evidence base behind every conversation we have

licensed concessions mapped from the official Zambia & DRC cadastres operating mines, smelters & refineries in our curated producer registry smelters & refineries — the complete regional list; a "seller" who isn't supplying one of these needs a very good story licences expiring within 24 months, tracked so documents can't outlive the rights behind them

What we do

How we verify a counterparty

  1. Cadastre cross-check. The claimed licence must exist on the official registry — correct code, correct holder name, polygon on the map.
  2. Status & expiry. "Active" in a PDF means nothing; we check the legal status and time remaining on the actual record.
  3. Facility match. Metal comes from somewhere. The named mine, smelter or refinery must appear in the regional producer registry — it is a short list.
  4. Documents & assay. Licence numbers, assay certificates and export documentation are cross-checked against each other and against issuing authorities; inspection at load port by recognised surveyors.

Red flags we screen out — learned the hard way

🚩 Seller or "mandate" whose licence code returns nothing on the official cadastre
🚩 Licences that are expired, revoked ("Droit Déchu") or flagged non-compliant behind a confident cover letter
🚩 A claimed smelter or refinery that isn't one of the region's known facilities
🚩 Deep discounts to LME with no verifiable origin — the classic lure
🚩 Pressure for upfront deposits before independently verifiable documents exist
🚩 Assay or export certificates that don't cross-check with the issuing authority
